This meeting was held to explain about HVE and also to invite the certification bodies’ to participate in using the system.
HVE is a system centered database for the products or raw materials that have been approved or received halal recognition from 57 certification bodies which had been recognized by JAKIM. From the meeting, all six (6) certification bodies had been agreed to join HVE and has signed a cooperation agreement for that purpose. With the inclusion of six (6) certification bodies in Australia, HVE now already have 15 certification bodies from 57 certification which recognized by JAKIM. Certification bodies which had been agreed to join HVE are The Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (Thailand), Total Quality Halal Correct Certification (Holland), The Control Office of Halal Slaughtering & Halal Quality Control BV (Holland), Halal Food Council of Europe (Belgium), NZ Islamic Meat Management & NZ Islamic Processed Food Management (NZIM) (New Zealand), Federation of Islamic Association of New Zealand (FIANZ) (New Zealand), Halal Certification Agency (Vietnam) , South African National Halal Authority (Sanha) (South Africa), The Muslim Food Council (UK), The Perth Mosque of Western Australia Incorporated (Australia), Supreme Islamic Council of Halal Meat in Australia (SICHMA) (Australia) , Islamic Co-ordinating Council of Vistoria (the chamber) (Australia), Australian Halal Authority & Advisers (Australia), Al - Iman Mosque Islamic Society of South Australia (Australia) and Adelaide Mosque Islamic Society of South Australia (Australia).
At the same time the opportunity was taken by JAKIM during that meeting to explain about the other effort which had been conducted by JAKIM and private partnership in Malaysia namely Training and Debriefing Halal slaughterer. Exercise with a module that aims to realize comprehensively trained slaughterer, high skill and have the knowledge and practice of religion is good for the slaughter houses across Australia. This module was develop based on Protocol for the Halal Meat and Poultry Production. This effort was well received by the certification bodies because it can help overcome the problem of shortage of trained slaughterer being faced by most of the slaughter houses under their monitoring. JAKIM through First Secretary (Halal) at the Malaysian embassy officials in Canberra will held a further talks with the Australian Government in terms of procedures, permit and other purposes before delivery of slaughterer were made.
