Dear Brothers and Sisters-in-Islam
Assalaam Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatahu.
I pray to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala that you all are in the best of health and progressing well in the path of Taqwa.
Presently, there has been lack of rainfall in most parts of New Zealand. In fact, a "state of drought" has been declared in much of the North Island, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Hawke's Bay. The drought is causing great concern to farmers in the country. If the situation persists, there will be adverse effects on agriculture and farming.
Given the above, it was suggested that the Muslim community should stand together and offer special "prayer for rain" (Salatul Istisqaa) after the Juma'ah prayers at all the Masajid/Islamic Centres in New Zealand.
Accordingly, we request that all Masajid/Islamic Centres should perform the special prayer for rain and to supplicate to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to ease the difficulties of the farmers and to bless the country.
